Intelligent NFTs or iNFTs are non-fungible tokens that are embedded with artificial intelligence as a part of their smart contract. This learning AI allows possibilities for interactivity, scalability, and generative properties derived from its access to networked artificial intelligence.^[1]

iNFTs were invented by Alethea AI and derive their intelligence through networked AI via Alethea AI protocol.^[2] the iNFT protocol allows one to create intelligent NFTs or convert a normal NFT into an iNFT.^[3]^[4]^[5]^[6]^[7]

Intelligent NFTs were a concept founded by the Alethea AI CEO Arif Khan.^[8]^[9]^[10] This concept of intelligent NFTs was first published via Andrew Steinwold’s, Zima Red Newsletter in April 2021.^[11]^[12]^[13] This concept combines artificial intelligence and blockchain technology to turn NFTs into AI personalities which can interact with the user and have multiple traits that correspond to their use and therefore become more intuitive for the human users eventually doing all their online work for them such as content creation, intellectual property controlled meme content generation via community owned characters, reminding timely cultivation of farmland etc.^[14]^[15]^[16]^[17]^[18]^[19]

Notably, the first virtual character as an iNFT, Alice, was auctioned in June 2021 at Sotheby's working with the artist, Robert Alice, for USD $478,800.^[20]^[21] Such iNFTs are able to access open source as well as user built AI models via Alethea’s protocol to activate their interactive properties.^[22]^[23] For this process, users first have to purchase a Personality Pod NFT from Alethea and train it on their platform.^[24]^[25]^[26]^[27]
